The natural urge to suck
To Cayden, nothing is as heavenly as sucking..
and biting...
This is typically how he puts himself to sleep- thumb sucking.

When I grow up...
... I want to be an Astronaut because I want to work in space!
"Haha.. Carys you sure??"
"Yes yes!! I want to work in space!!"
I am not joking. Children of my age have big dreams and ambition!
Previously, I eagerly expressed my interest to be a doctor after learning about Lungs, Breathing and Stethoscope at the clinic. My parents do not know what triggered me to change my mind after a month of enthusiasm. Haha..
Regardless of the path I take, my parents hope I will grow up to be a good citizen making positive contributions to the society.
Anyway, Mummy shared in facebook-
"Carys' ambition is to b an astronaut because she wans to go to space"
and received interesting response (names slightly edited):
Amy hahaha....very ambitious....
Helen We need an astronaut from Singapore! Carys, I support you!
Hoe hee, just make sure she upgrades her ambition every week and not downgrade oh!but amazing leh, so young already have ambition. ^^ Carys is a clever xiao li hai! uncle also support you!
Angie wah first female singaporean astronaut!!!!! ... if it comes true, i need to "chope" time for Carys for an autograph. hee :)
Daphne smart carys! to understand wat is an astronaut at her age! amazing!
Juliana At one time, my girl wanted to be a 'policeman' cos she wanted to carry a gun and 'piang piang'.On another day, she wants to be a zookeeper so that she can bathe/feed the animals. Let's enjoy these moments!
Kei Hahahahahaha!!!!! I like it!!!!! LOL!!
Ying wow... u hv an extraordinary gal hehe....
Stephen That's a long way from home.
"Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours, to see. Dear Carys, Carys. What will be, will be."

A New Playground
After 3 months of construction, our long-awaited new playground is finally opened! Woohoo!!

See his related post FUN at the Playground with Carys

(yes, a photo taken after I teared as Mummy did not allow me to utilize this steep spiral slide at first)

Even though its brand new and nice, some of our neighbours feedback that they still prefer the old one. I share the same sentiment as I miss the see-saw, tic-tac-toe as well as the rocking horses the old playground had to offer. Well, I guess we just have to make do with what we have now.

Home Barber
There seem to be frequent postings pertaining to hairstyles and grooming recently but please do not be mistaken, our intention is never to build a blog focusing on hairdo. Haha.. Well anyway, Daddy purchased this grooming kit at the Philips Carnival Sale last weekend specially to groom little Cayden's hair.

Daddy's skill is not bad uh?
We are glad to have bought the kit as we recalled Cayden's cries almost woke the whole neighbourhood during his hair-shaving session at the barber. Besides, we get to enjoy the convenience as well as comfort of doing it ourselves at home.

My Fairy Princess Palace
This was a gift from Auntie Veron on my 1st birthday but I was not ready to appreciate until recently.

It was designed with great details in mind to the extent of including a restroom for the residents of the palace..haha
It was so delicate that Mummy kept reminding me to play and handle with care.

p.s Daddy's comment - he cannot understand the fun involved as only girls can appreciate this...hee hee

Fun Taiwan - Day 7 to 9
Click HERE for complete set of photosDay 7 2 Oct 09
- Shopped along IT Hightech District - ZhongXiaoXingShen. It was Daddy's shopping spree but he did not buy anything. Most of the hardwares and photography equipments were more costly or equally priced as Singapore's market.
- Took MRT and headed North towards Danshui hoping to catch a glimpse of the netizens' recommended beautiful evening sunset by the river but sky turned out to be very cloudy.
- Shopped along the Danshui Historical Street. We managed to try one of Danshui delicacies - "Ah Gei" but found it being quite ordinary.
- Returned to hotel and took a walk around XiMenDing. We were puzzled why everyone was out barbecuing, to later found out it was their "National BBQ Day". Taiwanese celebrate Mid-autumn Festival by barbecuing. Very unique eh.. no lantern spotted anywhere but the air was filled with grilled food aroma.
- We too joined in the fun and tasted some enticing and delicious grilled food by the roadside stalls.

Day 8 3 Oct 09
- Had a terrific time filling up our tummies at 皇家帝国鸳鸯 buffet steamboat restaurant near XiMenDing MRT. The food variety was incredible ranging from VERY fresh fleshy crabs (not flower crabs), octopus, big succulent scallops to angus beef (we don't eat beef though). Not to mention they have 8 types of soup base to choose from including sukiyaki, ma la, mushroom, tomato etc plus free flow of all kinds of drinks (excluding beer), wide spread of Taiwanese pastries as well as haagen dazs ice-cream. End of the meal, we paid less than SGD20 per head. It was really worth it.
- Took a bullet train ride (they called it High Speed Rail) from Taipei to Taoyuan. It was indeed very fast.
- Did last minute shopping before returning to hotel for packing up.
- We bid goodbye to Taipei at 7.40am and head back to Singapore

a-Maze-ing
Besides jigsaw puzzles, Mummy is surprised that I love to challenge simple mazes.I have started with extremely simple Kumon mazes and then increased the level of difficulty with each page. This is a wonderful and fun activity which help me improve my problem-solving as well as fine-motor skills. I am very addicted to it and have completed 24 mazes for the past 2 days.

Mummy has to start sourcing for printable mazes online once I completed my Kumon Easy Maze workbook, which could be soon!Labels: HomeTeaching, Learning Dev
