My Fairy Princess Palace
This was a gift given by Auntie Veron on my 1st birthday but I was not ready to appreciate until recently.

It is designed with great details in mind to the extent of including a restroom for the residents of the palace..haha
It is so delicate that Mummy kept reminding me to play and handle with care.

p.s Daddy's comment - he cannot understand the fun involved as only girls can appreciate this...hee hee

Fun Taiwan - Day 7 to 9
Click HERE for complete set of photosDay 7 2 Oct 09
- Took MRT and headed North towards Danshui hoping to catch a glimpse of the netizens' recommended beautiful evening sunset by the river but sky turned out to be very cloudy.
- Shopped along the Danshui Historical Street. We managed to try one of Danshui delicacies - "Ah Gei" but found it being quite ordinary.
- Returned to hotel and took a walk around XiMenDing. We were puzzled why everyone was out barbecuing, to later found out it was their "National BBQ Day". Taiwanese celebrate Mid-autumn Festival by barbecuing. Very unique eh.. no lantern spotted anywhere but the air was filled with grilled food aroma.
- We too joined in the fun and tasted some enticing and delicious grilled food by the roadside stalls.

Day 8 3 Oct 09
- Had a terrific time filling up our tummies at 皇家帝国鸳鸯 buffet steamboat restaurant near XiMenDing MRT. The food variety was incredible ranging from VERY fresh fleshy crabs (not flower crabs), octopus, big succulent scallops to angus beef (we don't eat beef though). Not to mention they have 8 types of soup base to choose from including sukiyaki, ma la, mushroom, tomato etc plus free flow of all kinds of drinks (excluding beer), wide spread of Taiwanese pastries as well as haagen dazs ice-cream. End of the meal, we paid less than SGD20 per head. It was really worth it.
- Took a bullet train ride (they called it High Speed Rail) from Taipei to Taoyuan. It was indeed very fast.
- Did last minute shopping before returning to hotel for packing up.
- We bid goodbye to Taipei at 7.40am and head back to Singapore

a-Maze-ing
Besides jigsaw puzzles, Mummy is surprised that I love to challenge simple mazes.I have started with extremely simple Kumon mazes and then increased the level of difficulty with each page. This is a wonderful and fun activity which help me improve my problem-solving as well as fine-motor skills. I am very addicted to it and have completed 24 mazes for the past 2 days.

Mummy has to start sourcing for printable mazes online once I completed my Kumon Easy Maze workbook, which could be soon!Labels: HomeTeaching, Learning Dev

He is 7.5 mths old
It has been a very eventful month for Cayden as he reaches a few interesting development milestones as follows:- Able to stand while holding on to our hands for support

- Make himself comfortable in a baby chair
- Able to sit for a slightly longer period
- Two bottom teeth spouting (not able to capture on photo though)

- Attempt to imitate us talking instead of solely googoo-gaagaa

- Able to crawl backward and maneuver slowly towards a targetted spot
What an exciting and enjoyable period for both us and him!

All four down
One after another, we took turns to fall sick.It all started off with a little cough virus I brought back from school which was then passed on to Daddy. He experienced a bad sorethroat but luckily recovered quite speedily with the help of medication. My cough, however, took slightly longer to recover.
Two weeks thereafter, Mummy contacted the germ from me and it got really nasty. On top of the sorethroat and flu, she had fever consecutively for four days. What do you usually do when you have a fever? Rest right? Mummy did not have such a luxury. While running a temperature, she had to look after Cayden. The worst nightmare came when Cayden fell sick too. He was down with fever, sorethroat and flu too.
It has been quite tough. That explains why the blog came to a stand still for the past one week. Gladly, we are on the path to recovery. Hope we will all be in pink of health very soon!
p.s We know we still owe you the last update of our taiwan trip. Will do so soon ok?

A Caring Heart

While Mummy was unwell, she was touched by some of my little heartwarming gestures which, she thought, ought to be posted for sharing:
- *Mummy resting on the bed feeling weak*
Carys: Good Night, Mummy.
Mummy: Good Night, Carys.
Carys: *pat pat* Don't talk, sleep, Mummy. Don't talk, sleep.
- *Mummy and Carys getting ready to sleep*
Carys: Cold, Mummy. It's cold *Cover Mummy with blankie*
Mummy must admit that she can be pretty clumsy at times, especially when she walks.
- *Mummy and Carys holding hands walking*
Carys: Mummy, walk carefully. Watch your steps. Don't fall down.
- *Daddy passed Mummy some small notes before she got off the car to buy some packed food*
Carys: Mummy, be careful. Please don't drop the money
- *Carys came home, walked straight to Mummy, gave her a kiss and hug, then said "I love you"*
Mummy: *speechless*

His new teething toy
Little Cayden "discovered" the existence of his little toes a month ago and started suckling/ biting them as teething toys. Sound funny? View video belowOh yeah, his 2 bottom front teeth are sprouting - about 0.5mm in size. We will upload some photos when Daddy or Mummy manage to capture them on camera.

2 inches Snapped!!!!
Very reluctantly, Mummy brought me to the hairdresser for a 2inches trim.
I now look more refreshed, isn't it?
My previous hair length had made me very uncomfortable and disturbed, plus Mummy did not have the chance to tie my hair all the time.
We shall meet again, little ponytails!

Fun Taiwan - Day 4 to 6
Day 4 29 Sept 09
- Cayden's face began to develop rashes, suspected due to the weather as he fully recovered one day after our return home.
- I was down with a slight cough.
- We Booked a cab to explore the outskirts of Taipei and visit the following places:
- Yeliu Geopark 野柳 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yehliu) - It was drizzling irritably with very strong howling wind so we did not manage to explore much. Worried that the weather would be too harsh for Cayden, Mummy could only be out for 5mins before returning to the visitor's lodge but she managed to catch a glimpse of the queen's head from a very far distance. What a disappointment! Grrr...- JiFen 九份 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiufen)- Still drizzling, we settled down in a small shop for lunch. It was my very first lunchout but I enjoyed it - minched pork wrapped in beancurd and fishcake. I wet my pants so Por Por bought me a pretty Korean dress.
- Gold Ecological Park 金瓜石 and Bitou 鼻頭 - The wind got stronger up in the mountains so we stayed in the cab to observe scenic attractions including Yin-yang Sea 阴阳海 and Gold Waterfall 黄金瀑布. If not for the weather, it would be a very interesting educational trip. My parents aim to return for a self-drive trip along the northeast and east coast of Taiwan. Not joking!
- Keelung and MiaoKou Night Market 基隆庙口-Keelung is a busy habour port outside Taipei. MiaoKou Night Market has quite a great variety of food. Things and food there are very cheap and good!
- Meant to be a slightly more relaxing day but Daddy and Mummy ended feeling stressed up as I was not feeling well and Cayden had been deprived of sleep and thus very cranky.
Day 5 30 Sept 09
- As the previous 2 days were very activity-packed, we had more relaxing plan for today - shop and lunch around XiMenDing near our hotel
- Most of the shops were meant for youngsters/teenagers. So we simply did some window shopping.
- Found and tried the renowned mee sua 阿宗麵線 - quite nice but not much ingredient other than pork intestine.
- Dined at the foodcourt of ZhongXiao FuXing Sogo in the evening. Most of the food sold were Japanese with a Taiwanese twist. Tasted ordinary.
- Visited Taipei 101 88th Floor Observatory Deck - it was nice and spacious where I got to run freely. Sad that the 91st floor outdoor observatory deck were closed as it started drizzling.
- We were very impressed- not over the observatory deck, nor the tuned mass damper or scenery but the gigantic food court and the variety of food it had to offer. Yum yum... hahaha. This was where Daddy met his ex-colleague Mr Ng for lunch.
- Not forgetting the current day was Children's Day, Mummy planned a visit to the Toys'R Us store at NewYork NewYork. My favourite time of the day...yippee! Daddy bought me this Junior Engineer toy set.
- Had a shopping spree at WuFenPu 五分埔 Wholesale Market. To Mummy, this was one of the most appealing attractions because the apparels sold were extremely affordable yet not compromising on quality. Mummy got me the following clothes for no more than SGD5 each. In fact, most were 3 for SGD10 with good quality. We could have gotten more but the fashion were towards winter style as Taipei was turning cold.

(Certainly, Mummy would return to Taipei - for more shopping in WuFenPu. Haha!) - Covered half of ShiLin Night Market. A heaven for street snacks indeed. My parents wished they were cows - with 4 stomachs.... so that they could eat more. Mummy was very pleased to have tasted the famous Raohe Pepper Bun 胡椒饼. It would appeal to you if you like pepper - extremely crispy with peppery juicy meat within. Yummm... the 15 minutes of torturing queue was worth it.
